When Greg Gonnerman, grower at Chiricahua Ranch Vineyard, was formulating his initial plan for planting, we suggested Vermentino. We envisioned a wine that is light, fresh, and crisp with a citrus and mineral backbone. A fun sipper for Arizona’s blazing summers. Vermentino fit the bill perfectly. Picked mid-August, the grapes were foot crushed and skin soaked for 3 hours before pressing. Fermented 55% in stainless steel and 45% neutral oak and aged for 9 months on the lees. No malolactic fermentation. 12% abv
