2017 Chiricahua Ranch Sangiovese

This single vineyard bottling is sourced from Chiricahua Ranch Vineyard.  The site is located at 4,530 feet in elevation on granite derived sandy loam and is planted to the grosso “Brunello” clone of Sangiovese.  The fruit is picked to emphasize the fresh, red fruit and herbal character of the grape.  Destemmed and open topped fermented with 5 weeks on the skins before pressing.  Aged in an older 500 liter puncheon for 18 months.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 13.2% abv
