When Greg Gonnerman, grower at Chiricahua Ranch Vineyard, was formulating his initial plan for planting, we suggested Vermentino.  We envisioned a wine that is light, fresh, and crisp with a citrus and mineral backbone. A fun sipper for Arizona’s blazing summers.  Vermentino fit the bill perfectly.  Picked August 20, the grapes were foot crushed and skin soaked for 3 hours before pressing.  Fermented 75% in neutral oak and 25% stainless steel and aged for 8 months on the lees.  No malolactic fermentation.  12.8% abv
